Looking for a speaker with lived experience of disability within PR, media or communication?
I’ve been writing and speaking about diversity and inclusion since 2017. I can cover topics related to hearing loss, ableism, disability and inclusion in PR, leadership either within the PR and comms sector or in other areas of business like the energy sector and professional services.
I talk with openness, empathy and honesty about disability, inclusion, and PR’s journey towards being more diverse industry. I reflect on my career in public relations and media, the lessons learned, and impact of being disabled in an industry with such a small disability community.

I’m also an experienced panellist and chair who brings a questioning, fresh perspective to discussions and helps guide and steer events to get the most from participants and attendees.

I was delighted to be asked to present the first of a new series from Vuelio called accessmatters. Filmed during the pandemic I shared my story as a deaf individual working in PR and my agency achieving Blueprint Ally status. Below you can see an example of a virtual speaking engagement.
I invited Sara to speak at the Leeds Trinity Business Network as part of an expert panel to support businesses through lockdown. Sara focussed on Communications and PR and came well prepared with thoughts on how the sector had been impacted by the pandemic, key observations of interesting trends and examples of good and bad practice, and advice on what businesses can do for their own businesses. Her expertise was evident and her insights were well put across and so interesting. Sara was clear and articulate in her answers to questions and to her ‘what you can do now’ section. We received excellent feedback and I’m sure a lot of delegates took some useful ideas for their own communications. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Sara to speak again at one of our events.
